At Ohana Montessori, our educators are more than teachers, they are trusted partners, gentle guides, and dedicated members of our Ohana. We know that relationships are at the heart of every child’s success, and we are committed to creating a community where every child feels seen, celebrated, and supported.

Christine Hagerup

School Director

Christine Hagerup serves as School Director at Ohana Montessori. Originally from the Washington, D.C., area, she has been supporting the Early Childhood Education and Care community for 20 years, working for private, public, academic, and non-profit organizations.

Christine has traveled the world engaging with communities of a variety of backgrounds, finding meaningful ways to uplift children and their families. She holds a Masters in Educational Leadership in Early Childhood from Mills College (Oakland, CA), where her studies focused on community collaboration and equity in child-driven spaces.

In addition to her work in administration and in the classroom, Christine enjoys spending time outside in nature, whether that means taking a hike near the beach or snowshoeing in the mountains. She loves food, both eating and cooking, and can often be found taking a stroll in grocery stores and farmers’ markets.

Philosophy:
“I believe every child deserves to be truly seen and celebrated. My goal is to support our educators, our families, and—most of all—our children as they grow and thrive together.”
