Overview

Engaging activities nurturing cognitive growth, creativity, and a passion for discovery, setting the stage for lifelong learning.

Daily Routine/Schedule

A day in our Montessori preschool program is carefully structured to balance individual discovery and guided learning. The morning kicks off with a warm welcome from the teachers, setting the stage for a day of exploration. In a classroom that feels like a second home, children then enjoy uninterrupted blocks of work time, usually about two hours. These time blocks are integral for deep focus and engagement with activities.

The children are encouraged to make their own work choices from specially designed materials displayed on open shelves. The work cycle involves selecting an activity, diving into it, cleaning up, and returning the activity to its place. Snack times are interspersed, and children have the opportunity to prepare and clean up their own snacks using child-sized kitchen utensils. This routine nurtures cognitive growth, creativity, and a love for discovery, and it's adapted to fit the unique learning style of each child aged 3-6.

Curriculum Highlights

Our curriculum is a rich tapestry that caters to a child's holistic development. There are five primary areas of study: Practical Life, Sensorial, Math, Language, and Cultural Studies. Children learn everything from daily-life skills and social interactions in Practical Life to complex math concepts through hands-on activities. Language skills are honed, not just through dedicated lessons but are integrated throughout the classroom activities. All these curriculum elements are tailored to foster cognitive growth, creativity, and a lifelong love for learning.

Requirements

Children between the ages of 3-6 are eligible to enroll in our Montessori preschool program. No prior Montessori experience is required, as our highly trained teachers are skilled in adapting the environment to each child's unique abilities and learning style. We ensure that each child receives the attention and guidance they deserve. Before enrollment, a tour of our facilities and an orientation session are highly recommended for both parents and children.

Safety and Care

Safety and well-being are fundamental in Ohana Montessori's preschool program. The classroom layout features low sinks, child-sized furniture, and open shelves for easy, safe access. Our dedicated teachers vigilantly guide students to keep the space clean and organized. Strict hygiene protocols are adhered to, and all classroom materials are non-toxic.
