Overview
Engaging activities nurturing cognitive growth, creativity, and a passion for discovery, setting the stage for lifelong learning.
Daily Routine/Schedule
A day in our Montessori preschool program is carefully structured to balance individual discovery and guided learning. The morning kicks off with a warm welcome from the teachers, setting the stage for a day of exploration. In a classroom that feels like a second home, children then enjoy uninterrupted blocks of work time, usually about two hours. These time blocks are integral for deep focus and engagement with activities.
The children are encouraged to make their own work choices from specially designed materials displayed on open shelves. The work cycle involves selecting an activity, diving into it, cleaning up, and returning the activity to its place. Snack times are interspersed, and children have the opportunity to prepare and clean up their own snacks using child-sized kitchen utensils. This routine nurtures cognitive growth, creativity, and a love for discovery, and it's adapted to fit the unique learning style of each child aged 3-6.
Curriculum Highlights

Requirements
Ohana Montessori welcomes children between the ages of 3 and 6 to enroll in our Montessori
preschool program. No prior Montessori experience is necessary, our highly trained educators
are skilled in meeting each child where they are and supporting their individual learning style.
As part of the enrollment process, families meet with our director and educators to explore the
environment, connect with our team, and ensure a shared understanding of our Montessori
approach. This intentional step helps both the school and the family feel confident that our
program is the right fit for the child's next stage of development.
Following your visit, enrollment can be finalized through the application process and the
submission of an up-to-date immunization record and a general health statement from your
pediatrician. Families are required to provide all daily essentials, e.g., lunch and any additional
items their child may need each day. Throughout their time with us, your child will receive
personalized guidance in a warm, thoughtfully prepared learning environment.
Safety and Care
Safety and well-being are fundamental in Ohana Montessori's preschool program. The classroom layout features low sinks, child-sized furniture, and open shelves for easy, safe access. Our dedicated teachers vigilantly guide students to keep the space clean and organized. Strict hygiene protocols are adhered to, and all classroom materials are non-toxic.
